Custom Artwork Commission Agreement

1. Project Description
The client is commissioning an original artwork by Lauren Raker.
Medium: Acrylic on Canvas (unless otherwise specified)
The final artwork will be created in Lauren Raker’s signature artistic style. While inspiration and references may be discussed, the artist retains creative interpretation.

2. Pricing & Payment
A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your commission slot. Work will not begin until the deposit has been received.
Remaining balance is due prior to shipping or delivery of the finished artwork.
Accepted payment methods: Credit card, cash, Zelle, Venmo (@laurenrakerpaints)

3. Timeline
Current commission timeline is approximately 4–6 weeks, depending on the artist’s schedule and project complexity.
The client understands that artwork is handmade and timelines may occasionally shift slightly due to drying time, studio workload, or other factors. The artist will communicate any changes.

4. Revisions
The artist may provide one progress update during the painting process.
Small adjustments may be requested at that stage. Major changes to composition, size, or concept after work has begun may incur additional fees.

5. Shipping / Delivery
The artist will package artwork carefully, but is not responsible for delays or damage caused by shipping carriers.
Local pickup may be arranged if applicable.

6. Returns & Cancellations
Due to the custom nature of commissioned artwork:
• Deposits are non-refundable
• Completed commissions cannot be returned or refunded
If a client cancels before work begins, the deposit will be retained to cover reserved studio time.

7. Copyright & Image Use
The artist retains full copyright and reproduction rights to the artwork.
The client may display the artwork in their home or business but may not reproduce the image for commercial purposes without written permission.
The artist may photograph and share the artwork for portfolio, website, and social media purposes.

By accepting these terms and conditions, both parties agree to the terms outlined above.

9. Commission Selection Clause
The artist reserves the right to decline commission requests that are not aligned with her artistic style or current studio schedule.
